Spoken Word Poetry Rubric

Hello Grade 8's!  I'm really looking forward to your poetry presentations on Tuesday, May 22.  Make sure you practice and prepare to read a poem of your choice.  Here is the evaluation criteria you decided on.

Presentation-Delivery
Presentation delivered with more eye contact than not, confidence and enthusiasm
Presentation is delivered with some eye contact, confidence and enthusiasm
Presentation is delivered with little eye contact, confidence and enthusiasm
Presentation is delivered with no eye contact, confidence and enthusiasm
Presentation-Voice
Voice is clearly projected; speaker uses highly effective and expressive intonation; speaker is loud enough and speaks at a good pace appropriate for the poem
Voice is strongly projected, speaker uses somewhat effective and expressive intonation, voice is either too loud or soft, or too fast or slow
Voice is projected, but lacks expressive intonation/voice is unclear and/or pace is inadequate
Voice is poorly projected, lacks expressive intonation/unclear voice and/or inadequate pacing
Body Langugae
Excellent use of facial expressions, gestures or body language
Good use of facial expressions, gestures or body language
Some use of facial expressions, gestures or body language
Little or no attempt to use facial expressions, gestures or body language
