Hello English 8's.  A reminder about our POETRY TEST scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th.  The first part will be terms and definitions.  The second part will be identification of the correct poetic device/figurative language given in a sentence.  Email me if you have any questions.

Socials 9 Upcoming events

Hello SS9 students.  Two events are upcoming in our class this week.  First, we have our Current Event presentations for April scheduled for Wednesday, April 24.

Second, we have our final TEST on Canadian Confederation on Friday, April 26th.  Remember to study from the detailed outline we created in class.  Email me if you have any additional questions.

Spring reading!

Grade 8's.  I hope you get the chance to eat, sleep, play and repeat over Spring Break.  Also, keep in mind that you will need to select a book of your choice to read in class, complete various activities and do an independent novel project on during April/May.  It should be a novel that interests you, one that you have not read before (either in elementary school or individually) and one that is slightly challenging (in terms of language, topics, or genre).  Check around your house for one, your local library, a local bookstore or on-line too.  Below are a couple of links you might find useful for finding a suitable novel.
